Cutest little baby WE'VE ever had!

Perfection. Absolute Perfection. All dressed up and too pooped (literally) to play. Tyler thinks this bow looks like I shot a whole bunch of whipped cream on her head... Still a little young for that, I think. Mom & Elsie getting ready for some serious mini-golf. We won - baby on board and everything. What a super cutie!!! I can't believe she is already 9 weeks old. This picture totally cracks me up. Already a little bit of attitude.

Oh it burns, burns, burns...

On Tyler's last day of work with Rocky Mountain Wildlife Services his boss (Brett) was going to be out of town. So Brett has his crew go up to his family cabin with Brett's dad to clean up the property. Most of the work consists of burning slash piles. One of the guys Tyler is working with (Nate) has a water tank with a sprayer attached, and is working on one of the slash piles. Tyler is working on another located closer to the stream. Since there is only one water tank Tyler is using a 5 gallon bucket which he fills with water from the stream. As Tyler is walking around the slash pile he is working to keep under control, he moves to throw a bucket of water on it in order to keep the grass surrounding the pile from catching fire. Just as he goes to throw the water on the pile, a gust of wind swirls around the slash pile and re-directs the flames; directly into Tyler's face. Tyler is hit with a super hot gust of air from the fire, and pulls away thinking, "Wow. That was really hot..." As Tyler is walking down to the stream to re-fill his bucket with water, he smells burning hair. He realizes that it is probably his own, precious hair that he has been dutifully growing out on his wife's behalf for over a year now, and rushes the rest of the way to the stream and promptly submerges his head in the water. He stands up, a little concerned, turns to his co-worker and asks, "Hey Nate, did I just light my hair on fire?" Nate doubles over laughing as soon as he sees Tyler's hair. And, as you can see here, it is perfectly clear why. Luckily, Tyler didn't actually catch his head on fire. This time. He singed most of everything on his face: Hair, eyebrows, secret beard, beard, etc. We hope you get as much of a kick out of this as his crew did....

Home Tour

This post is mainly for my mom, who was wondering what our new apartment looks like. But, if you've never been to our apartment, I'm sure you'll find it very interesting. The exterior. We have better neighbors here than at our last apartment. We live in the basement. Entry. Front room. The kitchen. Laundry facilities, just off the kitchen. Our bedroom (what a nice quilt!). Although we are from Idaho, the boxes on our clothing shelf do not contain potatoes. Mini-hallway leading to our mini-bathroom. Mini-bathroom. One more room to go! Home office/baby's room/storage room. Amber, hard at work. Come visit soon!

Have the Celtics lost their mind?

The Boston Celtics recently signed one of the worst basketball players I've ever seen: Stephon Marbury, or as Sam refers to him, "Starbury". I'm pretty sure this signing will be the downfall of the 2009 Celtics, who are already struggling with Kevin Garnett out with an injury. I hope Danny Ainge, the Celtics GM, knows something that I don't, because this move just seems crazy. The Knicks, Marbury's former team, paid him $21 million dollars to NOT play for them. The rest of the NBA season is going to be rough. On a side note, he does have a fine scalp tattoo.

Tag Results

Here are the results of your tagging, Wendy. Hope you're happy. (L to R: Billie, Eva, Teresa, Ivy, and some random neighbor kid)

The Belly

For all of you that have been asking - here are the pictures of my belly. I don't know where it came from. It seems like just the other (blessed) day that most people were surprised to find out I was pregnant. Then, overnight, I have a balloon for a belly. No more asking or silent wondering on the part of others if I am just packing on the winter weight, or if I'm pregnant. It is now abundantly clear that I am gonna be a momma!!! We are so excited, and can't believe that in a mere 3 months our lives as know them will never be the same again....

Christmas!

Me and my huge belly (which I just love) and my new Christmas shoes!
Tyler's long-awaited for XBox live subscription. Life is now complete.
Tyler has been collecting golf balls in the fields where he works for the last 9 months or so. I am so glad he was able to give some as Christmas gifts. Only one box (yes, box) of recycled golf balls left. I can't wait until next year - even though I'm sure he will have replenished his supply by then...
I love this picture of Tyler's dad! It makes me laugh every time I look at it!
We gave Tyler's mom a potato, potato peeler for Christmas - brilliant!!! Why can't I think of these clever things?
